Watch out for sharks

My mom has given me a lot of advice over the years. She has talked to me until she was blue in the face. And she would probably tell you that I have not been a very good listener to all her pearls of wisdom.

Kids don't let you know that they are listening. They don't want you to know that they hear you.

But every time you see your kid look both ways before they cross the street or put their seatbelt on unsolicitedly or live in China making judicious decisions day in/day out, I think you have to say,


"I think he/she listened to me after all."
